I find it very surprising that there was no mention in The Photo News of the removal of town-owned furniture by the former Monroe Town Supervisor Harley Doles.

Over the New Year's holiday break, Mr. Doles removed his desk, end tables, a coffee table, chairs and more - leaving our new Town Supervisor Tony Cardone with an empty office.

Although Mr. Doles stated "there's nothing stealing" when interviewed by News Channel 12, I think even a child would know if they didn't pay for something, it's not theirs to take.

If Mr. Doles thought the furniture was his for the taking, why would he remove it over a holiday weekend when the town offices were closed?

He returned the items after a complaint was filed with the police department, and the news stations picked up the story which was covered by the Times Herald-Record, News 12, the North Orange Daily Voice and even ABC News.

I am curious as to why this story was never mentioned in The Photo News.

Sincerely,

Cristina Kiesel

Monroe

Editor's note: The furniture was returned. No charges were filed. And it's time to move on to more important issues.
