What should I look for when I am visiting a college?

If you are going to take the time and effort to go visit a college being sure that you gather all the information necessary for you to understand if that college is a good fit for you is important. I break it up into 5 categories:

+ School Facilities – Look at the classroom and general facilities, library, dorm rooms and food offerings
+ Academics – Class sizes, students relationships with their professors
+ Current environment – What do students do in their spare time, do they like what the school as to offer, best and worst things about the school
+ Outside environment – Is this a campus you can see yourself being a part of, is the area outside the campus something you can see yourself enjoying
+ Admissions – Are the requirements within your reach, do you know how and when to apply

Take notes and write down all of the information and how you felt about the school. As much as you think you will remember everything down the road, trust me, you won't.

If you have any questions about the college admissions process or the above information please do not hesitate to contact me at info@signaturecollegecounseling.com or by phone, 845.551.6946.
