Arnold N. Vitelli Jr.

    Arnold N. Vitelli Jr. of Monroe passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Villa Marie Claire in Saddle River, N.J. He was 86 years old and had been a longtime resident of the area.
    The son of Arnold N. Vitelli,Sr. and Mildred LaGalla Vitelli, he was born May 18, 1931, in Brooklyn.
    Arnold, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean conflict, played trumpet for the Air Force band under the direction of John Williams, who went on to score many Hollywood blockbuster films.
    He was a retired bricklayer with BAC Local #1 out of New York City.
    Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Hall Vitelli, at home; his sons: Larry Vitelli and his wife Barbara of Monroe and Michael Vitelli and his wife Jody of Lawrence, Kansas; his sister Adrienne Russell of Tampa, Florida; his four grandchildren: Paul, Daniel, Rebecca and Matthew; and his great-grandchild Everly.
    Visitation was held June 2 at Smith Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home in Monroe.
    A chapel service also was held at the Funeral Home.
    Interment followed in Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen.
