MIDDLETOWN — Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. will host a free community screening of the documentary, "Being Mortal," on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m., at Home2Suites by Hilton Middletown in recognition of Hospice and Palliative Care Awareness Month.
The Being Mortal Project is a film about physician and best-selling Author Atual Gawande, who shares stories from the perspectives of both physician and the people and families he encounters, including his own in his book "Being Mortal."
The Being Mortal Project shares new light on how our system so often focuses on a cure and neglects the important conversations that need to happen so that a person’s true priorities can be known and honored.
A panel discussion will follow with Dr. Danielle Belser, associate medical director, and members of the Hospice Care team.
If you are interested in attending we ask that you make reservations due to limited space by calling Janice Valentino, 845-561-6111 or email janicev@hospiceoforange.com.
Home2Suites by Hilton is located at 600 Route 211 East, Middletown.
