WARWICK — During December, the Amity Gallery is presenting an exhibit based on Alphabets.

Ten local artists explore letters from calligraphic scripts by Anne Hanson and freehand letters by graphic designer Marjorie Corbett, to words illustrating a Greek myth by William Gerbracht.

Sculptors Bob Breur and James Garvey will exhibit three-dimensional forged metal letters and carved wood signs.

The exhibit also includes lettering from around the world, such as Chinese lettering by Ron Gee, African symbols by artist Roslyn Fassett and a Persian quote carved in wood by George Sharp. Collages by Jessica Lawrence feature modern imagery printed on aged paper.

The Amity Gallery, which is located at 110 Newport Bridge Road, Warwick, will be open on weekends in December from noon to 4 p.m.

The Gallery will be closed on Sunday Dec. 24, and Sunday, Dec. 31.
