TUXEDO — Students of the George F. Baker High School and the George Grant Mason School have joined efforts to assist in the annual toy drive that is facilitated by Dr. David Kaufer, a longtime Tuxedo resident and former member of the Tuxedo Board of Education.

Kaufer initiated this collaborative effort with the Suffern Police Department and Suffern community eight years ago. It has become a wonderful annual tradition that allows the students and community of Tuxedo to come together to assist in making the holidays a little brighter for those who may be a little less fortunate.

Students decorated the Toy Drive boxes and National Honor Society members dropped them off at various locations throughout Tuxedo. These businesses partner with the school district and allow the Toy Drive boxes to be stationed at their locations for toy collection.

Area businesses/public services who have partnered with the school include:

• The Orange Top Diner;

• Town Hall;

• Dottie Audrey’s;

• Tuxedo Library;

• Tuxedo Police Department; and

• The Barber Shop.

The Tuxedo Union Free School District is now taking applications for nonresident students K-12 for our STEM Academies at both schools.
