NEWBURGH — On Friday, Feb. 16, Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh, will host the first 2018 iCANny.net Breakfast Forum, in which noted software engineer and serial entrepreneur, Wayne Reuvers, will be the featured speaker on the “Rise of Disruptive Technology.”
Disruption is a process that allows a smaller company with smarter but fewer resources to successfully challenge a larger, established company that has traditionally dominated the marketplace.
Reuvers is a South African-born, Irish-Dutch American businessman, engineer, software inventor and investor.
At the age of 14 he developed, marketed and sold his first software product, a technical analysis program for the stock market called Graph-It.
After serving his country in the military, he went on to produce derivative modeling software (sold to Reuters), created the fastest fingerprint matching algorithm (for pension payments), rolled out the first web-pixel tracking system (sold to Jupiter Media Metrix), designed a new web programming language (in use today), built a high transaction object oriented database and is now leading development in two untapped but explosive markets: Personal Clouds and Content Networks.
The forum begins at 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast in the Aquinas Room at Mount St. Mary College, which will also include presenter, Tom Kehoe, founder of his own disruptive technology, called IDIOM.
