Dean’s ListCameron Carter of Tuxedo Park, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, N.J., has been named to the Honors List for the Spring 2017 semester.

To qualify for the Honor’s List, a student must carry a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).

Students at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Florham Campus, located in Madison, N.J., have been named to the Dean’s and Honors Lists for the Spring 2017 semester.

Kailee Sullivan of Monroe has been named to the Honors List. To qualify for the Honor’s List, a student must carry a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).

Zachary Gordon of Central Valley has been named to the Dean’s List. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must carry a 3.2 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).

Students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or better with a minimum of 12 academic credits qualify for the Dean’s List.

Programs, awards, honorsKaitlin J. Concannon of Monroe took part in an internship in summer 2017 through SUNY Oswego’s Center for Experiential Learning. A senior majoring in wellness management, Concannon interned with Access Physical Therapy and Wellness in Monroe.

More than 300 new freshman and transfer students have been awarded merit scholarships to attend SUNY Oneonta beginning in the fall 2017 semester. The award amounts range from $1,000 to $8,000 per year.

The following area students received scholarships:

Gabriella Calandra of Monroe received the Deans Scholarship in the amount of $3,000 annually. Calandra, a graduate of Warwick Valley High School, plans to major in Professional Accounting.

Junyoung Jeong of Monroe received the Presidential Award for Diversity and Leadership in the amount of $6,470 annually. Jeong, a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, plans to major in Biology.

Samantha Giler of Chester has been selected to receive the Presidential Award for Diversity and Leadership to attend SUNY Oneonta. The college’s award of $6,470 annually will help Giler to pursue a bachelor’s degree beginning in the fall 2017 semester.

Giler, a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, plans to major in Biochemistry.

Jessica Levinson of Monroe is on the SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team for the 2017 season.

First-year coach Mike Eckberg will help guide the Hawks to a bounce-back season after they finished 1-15-2 last fall. However, his focus this year is not necessarily on wins and losses, but level of play throughout games, practices and training.

“Ideally, I think what we want to focus on as much as possible is creating the best process and not be so driven or focused on results, but focus on what we can control in training, focus on what we can control in the weight room and focus on our controls,” Eckberg said.
