TUXEDO PARK — Elaine Freed Lindenblatt, a daughter of Red Apple founder Reuben Freed, will share images and stories from her new book about the iconic restaurant on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 1:30 p.m., at the Tuxedo Historical Society.

The book, "Stop at the Red Apple," is published by SUNY Press. The program is followed by book sales and signing.

“The life of Red Apple Rest founder Reuben Freed is the quintessential immigrant success story," wrote Deborah Harmon, the executive director of the Tuxedo Historical Society on the book's web page. "His restaurant is an icon of the golden age of American motor travel and the heyday of the Catskill resorts and borscht belt entertainers. Lindenblatt’s book is entertaining, atmospheric and poignant. To readers who didn’t personally experience the Red Apple Rest, they will dearly wish that they had.”

The Tuxedo Historical Society is located at 7 Hospital Road in Tuxedo Park.
