HIGHLAND MILLS — Woodbury Town Councilman Frank J. Palermo defeated incumbent David Sutz in Tuesday’s Democratic primary for Woodbury Town supervisor.

According to the unofficial results from the Orange County Board of Elections, Palermo received 216 votes (62.43 percent) to the 129 (37.28 percent) received by Sutz. There also was a single write-in vote.

Four candidates also entered the Democratic primary for two seats on the Woodbury Town Board in November. The unofficial results were:

• Jacqueline C. Hernandez: 214 votes (31.89 percent)

• Amidee T. Haviland: 159 votes (23.70 percent)

Robert W. Hunter: 152 votes (22.65 percent)

Sandra J. Capriglione: 144 votes (21.46 percent)

Write-in: 2 votes (0.30 percent)

Sutz, Hunter and Capriglione will be on the November ballot as “Common Sense” candidates.
