SLIPPERY ROCK, PA. — Harriman native and Monroe-Woodbury graduate Kelly Blake was inducted into the Slippery Rock University's Ring of Honor over the weekend for her contributions to the university's women's soccer team.

Blake was a solid defender for the Crusaders and assisted the team to two sectional titles, two regional titles and the New York State semifinals and state finals in her high school years.

At Slippery Rock, Blake helped lead her team to a 51-18-8 record over her four years as the team won two PSAC Conference Championships and finished 12th in the nation in 2003.

While at Slippery Rock , Blake led a defense that allowed just 82 goals over four years - or less than one goal per game.

She was named team captain as a junior and senior and earned first-team All-PSAC honors as a senior before graduating from the Rock with a bachelor’s degree in environmental geoscience in 2007.

Blake played semi-pro soccer in New York and earned her Master’s degree in geology from Temple University in 2011.

Since 2011, Blake has worked as a civilian geologist for the United States Navy.

Kelly was inducted into the Ring Of Honor by 2014 inductee and High School Coach Leslie Ahlborn.
