Cheerleader Lauren Friedman is M-W's 'Athlete of the Week'

CENTRAL VALLEY — Monroe-Woodbury Athletic Director Lori Hock has announced that Lauren Friedman, a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Varsity Cheerleading Team coached by Barbara AliDad, is the “Athlete of the Week” for period ending Sept. 8.

Lauren is a senior and one of the captains of the Varsity Cheerleading Team. Lauren has been cheering since she was 6 years old.

She has also been a trainer for the Pop Warner Cheerleaders, earning a state win that took the team to compete in Disney World.

She is currently a junior coach for the Magic Cheerleaders at M-WHS.

In her announcement, Hock described Lauren as "extremely dedicated to her Varsity team. She is a strong leader and a role model to her peers. She consistently holds an A average in all her classes. It is with great pride that she is honored with this distinction."
