The audience votes at this ukulele competition on March 18WASHINGTONVILLE — St. Therese Classical Academy is hosting a Ukulele Competition at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 18 Hallock Drive Washingtonville, on Saturday, March 18, at 1 p.m.

Monetary awards include a first-place prize of $100.

To register as a performer for this event visit www.stcacademy.org/events.html and click the registration link.

Acts must include one ukulele and are limited to 2 performers. There is a $10 registration fee. All ages are welcome.

Doors open at 12:45 p.m. and tickets are $10 at the door. Your admission includes a seat, a flower lei and a voting card.

The audience will choose the winner!.

All proceeds from this event go to the St. Therese Classical Academy Capital Campaign Fund to purchase a permanent home for the school.

Book Talk with Bill Lemanski on March 30MONROE — The monthly TV show, Book Talk with Bill Lemanski, will be held at the Monroe Theater on Mill Pond Parkway on Thursday, March 30, at noon.

The guest speaker will be Don Weise, author of "Circuit Hikes in Harriman."

Weise is a past board member and current development director of the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference.
