Provost’s ListVincent Vespa of Monroe achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during the Fall 2016 semester to earn a spot on the Provost’s List at Hofstra University in Hempstead.

Dean’s ListKaylin Bourke of Highland Mills, a junior and Education major at SUNY New Paltz, has earned a place on the Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester.

Erin Bourke of Highland Mills, a freshman and Biology major at Binghamton University, has earned a place on the Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester.

Christopher Walker of Monroe was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester at Northeastern University in Boston. He is majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

To achieve the dean’s list distinction, students must carry a full program of at least four courses and have a quality point average of 3.5 or greater out of a possible 4.0

The following students were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2016 semester at the State University of New York at Geneseo:

Stephanie Carelli of Monroe.

Aideen Dempsey of Monroe.

Erin Henry of Monroe.

Andrew Wells of Monroe.

To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Awards, honors, programsKerry Bourke of Highland Mills, a senior at SUNY Buffalo and Occupational Therapy major, has been inducted into Sigma Alpha Pi the Buffalo chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success

Alex Baum of Monroe defended SUNY Delhi’s title in the two-year division of the Turf Bowl at the New York State Turfgrass Association Conference in Rochester on Nov. 16 and 17. Baum is pursuing an associate’s degree in Golf and Sports Turf Management at SUNY Delhi.

As part of the annual conference, SUNY Delhi students competed in two-year and four-year divisions in the Turf Bowl, which tests their ability to identify various types of turf, weeds and insects and complete a written exam. Students and their faculty spend hours preparing for the competition.

“There’s a lot of pride involved,” said Marvin Seaman, Assistant Professor of Applied Sciences and one of the coaches of the Turf Grass teams.

SUNY Delhi students went into the competition as defending champions in both divisions, maintaining their two-year title. The winning team consisted of students Edgar Magana, Andre Kepler, Alex Baum and Mario Magalsi. James Carlton, Tyler Warren, Ryan Jeskie, and Patrick Vibbard made up the four-year team.
