Artists sought for Tuxedo Community Art Show

TUXEDO — The Tuxedo Historical Society is seeking artists to exhibit their work at the Tuxedo Community Art Show.

The art show will be held at the historical society's headquarters at 7 Hospital Road in Tuxedo and will open with a private gallery reception for artists, members and invited guests on Friday, May 9.

The show will open to the public on Saturday, May 10, from 1-4 p.m., and open weekends 1-4 p.m. through Sunday, June 15.

The Tuxedo Historical Society welcomes submissions in painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and children's art. Both amateur and professional work is accepted and Tuxedo residents and non-residents are welcome to submit.

Artists have the option of pricing their works for sale.

Volunteers are also needed to assist in planning and staffing the show.

In additional to contemporary works by show exhibitors, pieces will be on display from the Tuxedo Historical Society's extensive collection of works by local artists from throughout the 20th century.

To receive entry forms and submission guidelines or to volunteer contact the historical society at tuxedohistory@gmail.com or call 845-351-2926.

Gallery space is limited and entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Deadline to submit entry forms is Friday, May 2, at 5 p.m.
