— Three Monroe teens were arrested last week after allegedly breaking car windows around the area with pellet guns.

The New York State Police say Andrew Ippoliti and Myroslav Kobernyk, both 18, and Patrick Boss, 20, all from Monroe, used BB guns to shoot at people and vehicles over three days in Kiryas Joel and the Town of Monroe. No serious injuries were reported.

The Town of Chester Police Department alerted the State Police about arrests their officers made after receiving complaints of criminal mischief.

At around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, Chester officer Robert Bird saw a vehicle with a broken window parked in front of a residence on Lake Region Boulevard in the Town of Monroe, according to the Town of Chester Police. He talked with the vehicle's owner and notified the State Police. He was then dispatched to Swan Hollow Road in the Town of Chester, where within the past half-hour another vehicle window had been broken, apparently with a pellet gun.

Responding officers knew that an alert motorist on Wednesday night reported seeing a black two-door sedan on Laroe Road with a gun sticking out of the window. Officers began patrolling the surrounding neighborhoods and found two more vehicles with broken windows.

While continuing to patrol the area, the Chester police saw a black two-door sedan driving through the neighborhood. They stopped the vehicle and found several pellet guns inside.

Following an investigation, the Chester police charged Andrew Ippoliti and Kobernyk Myroslav with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony. They were released and turned over to the tate Police, who are also investigating multiple incidents in the Town of Monroe involving objects and people being shot with pellet guns.

The State Police charged Ippoliti with three counts of second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree menacing, and Kobernyk and Boss with one count each of second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree menacing.

All three men were arraigned at the Town of Monroe Justice Court, where they posted bail and were ordered to return at a later date, according to the State Police.
